Fairfax, VA—The local public accounting and consulting firm of Swart, Lalande & Associates, P.C. is pleased to announce that Shannon C. Appleton, CPA, has been promoted to manager.

Appleton, previously a supervisor, joined the firm in 2007. She specializes in providing tax and internal accounting services for general small businesses, including government contractors, real estate developers and professional services industries, at both the business and owner levels. Appleton also holds the QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification.
Appleton is a 2002 graduate of Northern Arizona University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy. Her professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Northern Chapter of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA), National Contract Management Association (NCMA) and Network of Entrepreneurial Women. Appleton is a resident of Fairfax, Virginia.
