Chuck joined Swart, Lalande & Associates, P.C. (SLA) in 1983 shortly after his college graduation. In his role as shareholder, he specializes in performing employee benefit plan audits, as well as providing tax compliance and planning for small to mid-sized businesses and their owners. Chuck also provides comprehensive tax services to individuals.
Throughout Chuck’s career of more than 25 years, he has played an integral role in his clients’ success. For one client, he recommended the purchase of a building for operations. Over time, the acquisition has significantly helped increase the owner’s net worth. Chuck continually looks for ways to improve each client’s unique situation.
After changing his major to business during college, Chuck quickly discovered his passion for accounting. He particularly enjoyed the diversity of the profession and its connection to all areas of business. Today Chuck attributes his success to his dedication to personal service and looking out for clients’ best interests. He also credits his father, who always displayed a strong work ethic and the willingness to attempt anything. Chuck feels he has followed in his father’s footsteps and conveys those same traits.
Chuck was raised in Alexandria, Virginia, where he still resides today with his wife, Amy. Together they have two children. Outside the office, Chuck is an avid sports fan and enjoys making home improvements.
